Our Story

FROM Dinner Parties to Dining Experiences

Pomelo Dining began with two friends who met while living in Barcelona, a vibrant city that deepened their love for food. They shared a passion for hosting dinner parties and exploring the best ingredients and flavors.

Rosalie van der Weide is an experienced chef with a great ability to create extraordinary flavor combinations. She focuses on seasonal, nourishing ingredients and believes that food should be both healing and joyful. Her deep understanding of wine and champagne pairing adds another layer to the dining experience she creates.
Tjarda Glas trained at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, where she embraced a farm-to-table philosophy and developed her skills in sustainable sourcing, food styling, baking and fermentation. She further developed pastry skills at Deguelle Patisserie in Amsterdam. Tjarda brings not only technical precision but also playful creativity to menu creation and plating.

Together, Rosalie and Tjarda blend culinary skill, creativity, and passion to build Pomelo Dining into a business grounded in authenticity, seasonality, and exceptional taste.

FAQ

Stirring questions

  • We're based in Amsterdam and primarily serve North Holland, where we've established strong local supplier and venue partnerships for exceptional catering experiences. We also offer nationwide and international services.

    For events outside our core Amsterdam area, we add a distance-based travel fee to cover transportation and setup costs. All additional fees are transparently communicated upfront during planning.

  • Our pricing covers food and service, with flexibility for you to provide your own equipment or use third-party rentals. We also offer tables, chairs, glassware, cutlery, serving platters, and linens for an additional fee.

    If you prefer a complete service, we'll include all equipment costs in your final quote for one transparent price. We're here to make your event as seamless as possible, whether you need a fully equipped setup or just want us to handle the food and service.

  • Guest numbers can be adjusted up to 1 week before your event. Cancellation fees apply as follows:

    • 2 weeks before event: 25% of total costs

    • 1 week before event: 50% of total costs

    • From 48 hours before event: 75% of total costs

    Major booking changes after the 1-week deadline may incur charges for costs already incurred. All fees are communicated transparently upfront.

  • Absolutely! We specialize in creating custom menus tailored to your vision. Whether you’re planning a themed event like a Mediterranean evening or have a specific cuisine in mind, we can design a menu that fits your concept perfectly.

    Just let us know your preferences, theme or any dietary requirements, and we will craft a unique dining experience to match. Everything is available upon request, and we love bringing creative ideas to life.
